South End Gallery Crawl Walking Tour for February First Friday

South End is home to the largest concentration of art galleries in Charlotte with over 12 galleries and more than 25 studios. The First Friday of every month, South End hosts a Gallery Crawl where the galleries offer receptions as they launch a new monthly exhibition.

In addition to the Gallery Crawl, a new event has emerged called Food Truck Friday which is a gathering of some of Charlotte’s popular food trucks on the vacant lot at the corner of Camden Rd and Park Ave. Hundreds of folks come out to sample this food truck cuisine and engage in a truly unique culinary experience.

Gallery Crawls are typically set up so you can wander or stop and start as you choose but for this first time we are going to offer a guided walking tour for the South End Gallery Crawl.  We will visit Elder Gallery, the Charlotte Art League, Lark & Key Gallery and Ciel Gallery and Mosaic Studio. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to grab a bite to eat at Food Truck Friday and explore some of the other shops and boutiques that are open during Gallery Crawl like The Boulevard at South End, Blush Boutique, Black Sheep and Modern Fabrics. To conlcude the tour we’ll make a stop at Common Market for any who’d like to enjoy a final craft beer or glass of wine.

The Gallery Crawl Walking Tour will be led by Ted Boyd, Director of South End. The Tour is Free to attend but space is limited.

REGISTRATION

Tour Details:

5:30 – 6:00pm – Food Truck Friday and Registration.  Meet at the Corner of Camden Rd and Park Ave (Food Truck Friday lot) to register and get maps. Look for the branded black and white Historic South End Tent for Registration

6:00pm – Elder Gallery

6:40pm – Charlotte Art League

7:20pm – Lark & Key Gallery

7:40pm – Ciel Gallery + Mosaic Studio

8:00pm – Common Market or Revist Galleries and Shops on your Own
